The Surseat Mini P-45 Model IS designed for lapping brake lines. The Surseat flare lapping tool allows you to lap-in flared tubing to eliminate leaks in fuel and brake line joints. This innovative new tool removes irregularities in the flare and hones it to a perfect angle to enable the tube to seat with the fitting. The Surseat will not only perfect your newly-flared stainless steel, aluminum or copper lines, it can also repair and seal with the fitting of an existing brake or fuel line. It is based on the tried and true practice of lapping engine valves. A diamond dust coated lapping head with a precision 37° or 45° angle literally polishes the flare smooth to perfection. The Surseat is a valuable asset for car builders, automotive repair facilities, and hobbyists.
- The Surseat P-45 is used for 3/16" & 1/4" steel brake lines with a 45° double flare.
- Includes threaded collets to screw the fitting into.
- The collet and tube are secured into the P-45 with a lock spring.

This is a grate tool to ensure you get solid leak free connections on your brake flares. I've never worked on brakes. Recently I purchased the necessary tools, and completely replaced my brake system from master cylinder all the way to the brakes themselves. through the entire truck, I didn't have a single leak. this tool ensures a perfect mating surface for your flares. not sure if this is a "must have" but it definitely fills a need. I just ran brake lines on a new build using pre-made steel lines and out of close to a dozen connections, not one leak....except for those d....n banjos. definitely easier to use this during the build phase rather than having to go back later and try to fix the leaks then.

Took a look at and called the manufacture there reply was that they don't have a flaring tool that would flare stainless although the online ad here leads you to believe that it does, most be referring to a different tool.

Like other tools from Koul Tool this one fills a need that they saw like their other tools. I often work with Stainless Steel brake lines and they are sometimes hard to get a good seat/seal. This tool make getting a better seat on the flair a snap.
