When putting a new exhaust system on my 96 Chevy Silverado the new headers did not have a provision to re-connect the EGR tube. Since I didn't want to eliminate the EGR system in this case I ordered this filter and bought a fitting at the local hardware store to screw onto the end of the EGR tube. I installed this little filter on the end of the fitting and now I have the function of the EGR system getting fresh filtered air into it and best of all no check engine light/trouble codes.
