    Overall Assessment

Customers appreciate the practicality, quality, and safety features of our hood pins. Known for their usability, the captive catch feature has been highlighted as a superior quality that protects the hood from scratches compared to similar products. Made from sturdy steel instead of the more common aluminum, these hood pins offer safety and durability. Users express satisfaction with the pins' fit and functionality, making them a trusted choice for race car needs. Despite some need for minor modifications, most recommend these pins for their professional look and reliable performance. Even in the choice between our product and others, customers have shown a recurring preference for our hood pins, appreciating the lack of loose parts.

I purchased two pairs of these captive clips for the hood and decklid, and they are excellent quality. The stainless retainer plates are stout but small enough to fit into a tighter space. The self-locking pins are sturdy and function smoothly with a strong clamping force to keep them in place. The 7/16"-20 pins appear to be forged steel, and they are uniform with clean threads. Overall, these are excellent quality, especially for the price.

The thing I like about these compared to other hood pins is that the captive catch won't scratch your hood like the cables on similar products.

These hood pins are made out of steel where most of this style are aluminum. My chief complaint is they are difficult to mount on the captive neck as it's too narrow. I wish they were available in black.

    I would buy these again

This is my second set of these and they work great. As with most race car stuff, they needed a little modification to work on my project but that was not surprising to me. In my case, I had to enlarge the holes in the captive pin plates so they would clear the hood as it closed. My guess is that they're designed for a lift-off hood and mine pivots at the rear on factory hinges - this requires more clearance as the hood travels in an arc. No big deal and easily fixed. Also, I traded the small screws in the kit for Pop rivets - I think it looks more professional though I'm sure the screws would work just fine.

Building my second drag car and I'm using only this type of pin for hood and trunk. BOTH cars use this pin. Well worth the money and no pins to lose.
