First time buyer with Speedway, item arrived on time undamaged. The 390 CFM carb replaced a 650 CFM that was just too much for a basically stock (other than dual exhaust and Edelbrock manifold) 302 in a 74 Ford Bronco. Slight re-adjustment to float level and set idle for a C4 in gear, that was it. 100% improvement over the previous carb. Recommended to me by an old-time mechanic that said it may be counter intuitive, but sometimes a smaller carburetor will outperform a larger one. How so? In most part due to venturi velocity in low and mid-range performance at the sacrifice of extreme top end.

The carb fits great, but I'll only know later this spring on how it operates as that's when I'll be installing the engine back into my 55 Belvedere.

This is a popular selection for a straight six application, mine 250 ci chevy on the offy intake, you need a spacer to lift the carb up about a 1/2 inch for the throttle linkage to clear. The carb fits sideways on the straight six, you also will want a different fuel line port so your fuel line will be parallel to the valve cover. It will have fast idle for about two minutes till the electric choke operates. Idle speed was only screw that I have adjusted, seems to run perfect.

What manual coke kit will fit on the Holley 0-8007 390 cfm carb. I bought the one with the electric choke , but the flathead ford motor has the 3" spacer & the electric coke does not ever maintain fully open . The motor tends to get hot because its running with a partial choke

Four barrel carb on a -53 Mercury, 255 flathead Hi I wan`t to buy this carb, and I need a "shopping-list", so it will be most like "bolt on". - What else do you recomend for fittnig this to my -53, stock 255 cubic inch flathead. I want the best / easiest fitment, and wonder what kind of intake, spacer, bolts and gaskets etc. I will need. (I see that it is "some issues" with the one or the other intake, - like the speedway-intake: - does not accept stock fuel pump.) It seems to me that I have to go for the Offy or Edelbrock intake, but I can`t figure out which one will be the best / easiest fit. - What do you recomend..? Thank you!
