Many classic vehicles featured restrictive air cleaners with a single snorkel that pulled air from the hot engine compartment. Even high-performance “open” air filter assemblies, while flowing more air, still pulled air from the engine bay. It was still hot air, just more of it. Sure, some cars had “shaker” scoops or sealed cowl induction setups, but they were few and far between. And that was just stock setups too. Today we have LS, Coyote, and 3rd Gen Hemi swaps, EFI conversions, and much more that don’t use a traditional carb-style air cleaner housing. For these rides, and many more, when it comes to getting cool fresh air from outside the engine compartment it usually means cutting up the inner fender aprons and routing the engine’s air inlet from these areas. However, if your classic muscle car or pickup is rocking traditional 5-3/4-inch headlight housings and you’re looking for every bit of cold air you can for your day at the track then you need to have a look at this headlight intake duct.

Made from lightweight spun aluminum, this headlight intake adapter fits in place of your standard 5-3/4-inch sealed beam headlight. The inlet of the headlight intake duct is a generous 5-3/4-inches and smoothly tapers down to a 4-inch outlet. This allows the use of 4-inch tubing couplers to connect standard 4-inch cold air tubing to create the perfect cold air induction system for your engine. Some trimming of your headlight adjusting bucket will be required for the headlight intake outlet to pass through, but that will not prevent reinstallation of your headlight for street use.
