Overall Assessment

Customers praised the product for its easy installation, lightweight, and fitment. They noted its noticeable strength and solidity during use, particularly for S10 swaps needing additional clearance. The product's practicality by providing more room for headers and steering linkage was also highlighted. Buyers appreciated its lightweight construction, stating it is half the weight of a stock arm but stronger. The product was said to be of good quality, light, and sturdy. The product was further commended for helping users achieve their desired front-end setup easier. Many mentioned buying two rights for specific projects like drag racing and v8 swaps, stating this met their expectations. The control arms have been reviewed as a great fit, easy to install, offering more header clearance and being an excellent buy in term of value for money. The product was criticized by one customer for bending and breaking welds. The control arms were identified as beneficial for projects that necessitate greater clearance, particularly in exhaust manifolds. The recommendation was to buy two right sides for usage, especially when adding headers to a v8 S10. The product's deficiencies were noted in terms of workmanship and larger than necessary bolt holes on ball joints. Some commented that while it's not the highest quality, it's good value for the price and achieves its intended purpose.

Get what you pay for

I put these on a 1996 S10 with a 454, I used two right sides to get the correct camber. They went on easily. The workmanship is not as good as it could be. The holes for the bolts on the ball joint were much larger than the bolts themselves so you have to pay attention when you put on the ball joints to center them. The welds that joing the arm to the tubing that is on each end of the control arm coule be a lot better. It's made in china, nuff said. For the money not a bad unit and an easy way to shed a few pounts. I put these on to add clearance for the big block fenderwell headers and they did the job quite well.

I'm doing an LS swap in an S10 and needed additional clearance. These work great if you get the same side (equal length). I've bought a bunch of other items for my swap from SWM and always happy with my purchase!

Hi Eric, Hopefully last question. I have 3/4 inch shims on rear, 1/4 on front. You have told others to make sure you have at least 1/2 shims on both sides if using the LH 8 inch control arms. I am planning to install 1/2 taller ball joints upper and lower. Does this make a difference on the shims? Should I order RH 8.5 inch or LH 8 inch control arms. Also do you sell taller ball joints that are not low friction? Thanks in advance for your help.
