Overall Assessment

Customers highlight the product's practicality and high quality with many willing to repurchase. Despite some discrepancies in tech-support instructions, users confirmed that the kit is fully compatible with Grand National 8.5" rear and G-Body 7.5" rear, even accommodating modified 15x10" wheels. The kit features straightforward installation, with few and manageable modifications required. It conveniently replaces drum brakes, even in G-Body/Metric cars, utilising only basic hand tools. Some critics indicate, however, that the set may bend under high pressure and brake hoses are sold separately. The recommended rotor measurement may need adjustment for a perfect fit. These notwithstanding, the product largely draws praise for its performance and usability.

Great product but have to order brake hoses seperate

Everything was going smoothly on rear disk brake install. Until I got to the part of instructions where it said "install brake hoses and bleed system". There was no brake hoses in any of the boxes. Called speedway and tech support informed me that the brake hoses I need are sold separately. Sure would have been nice to know that when I ordered kit. Now I'm waiting another 4 or 5 days for ups truck. 😠

Installation Notes INCORRECT

The Rotor you recommend says from a 93 to 97 Camaro, Well that Rotor is 4.65 bolt circle and the 10 Bolt G-Body 84 Monte Carlo is a 4.75 bolt circle. The correct Rotor is from a 92, v8, Camaro which is 4.75 bolt circle and 296 mm or 11.65 inches.

Tech support said this would not work on a Grand National 8.5" rear, but the GN 8.5" rear has the exact same axle mounting for the read brakes as the G-Body 7.5" rear and it worked perfectly. Info says to use 16" wheels as they will not clear 15", but with some slight modifications got it to work with 15x10" wheels.

Bolts right up, easy to install with minimal modifications to the original axle flange. Rotors need to be drilled out to fit larger 5/8'' studs.
