Speedway Motors 91048396 Details

This pinion support is cast from 30,000 psi gray iron and is far superior to the original Ford unit. Daytona supports have a larger rear (inner) bearing and race along with improved oil flow to the bearings. This allows for higher torque, horsepower, and longer bearing life. Pinion support weighs 6 lbs.

Bearings and races sold seperately.

Timken bearing and race numbers (for reference only):

  • M88048 Front pinion bearing
  • M88010 Front pinion race
  • HM89443 Rear Daytona pinion bearing
  • HM89410 Rear Daytona pinion race

Special pinion nut # 919-6885 is recommended to use in conjunction with this item.

Crush sleeve issues

Verified

Speedways Daytona style crush sleeve did not fit with this support. Also tried the spacer and shim pack and it also is too short. Ended up machining my own spacer to use with shims to get the correct bearing pre-load.
