FiTech 50004 Details

The all-new FiTech Force Fuel System makes the upgrade to fuel injection even easier! The Force Fuel simply connects to a stock mechanical or electric fuel pump then supplies the EFI system with high pressure through the use of an internal 340-LPH pump. This means you don’t need to run a new feed line from the tank!

With a strong, versatile mounting bracket, the Force Fuel System mounts under and is fed with the original fuel pump. The assembly holds half-a-gallon of fuel to submerge the electric fuel pump to keep it cool for long life and no chance of fuel starvation. An internal regulator keeps the pressure at a consistent 58-psi which is ideal for reliable EFI performance.

A serviceable 10-micron fuel filter is supplied to keep the finest debris away from the injectors along with five feet of high-pressure fuel hose, AN fittings, and clamps. The precision machined extrusion is designed for strength and sealed tight. There is also an easy-to-view fuel pressure gauge installed for quick checks and heavy-duty wire terminals are also supplied to complete the installation.

This was installed into a 1977 Corvette with the 400HP FiTech 30003 EFI kit. The efi installed easily with easy to follow instructions. This vehicle had electric fans and A/C. The electric fan connection installed easily. You connect the efi yellow wire to the relay. I used the relay coming from the temperature sensor and eliminated that sensor. For the A/C, there was a solenoid used to bump up the RPMs when the A/C was engaged. I replaced the solenoid and connected the black wire to the solenoid wire. The Force Fuel System is easy to connect but you'll need to purchase more fuel line, unless you can mount the system close to your existing manual fuel pump. I had to mount mine on the driver side where the charcoal canister was located. I modified the canister bracket to hold the force fuel unit and used the canister return line to connect to the unit. This is not recommended since it's a smaller line but since the return connection to the tank was 1/4" I decided to take this easier route for now and hope it doesn't cause any issues later. With the unit on the driver side, I needed additional line to run from the manual fuel pump to the unit. I ran my lines over top of the engine to prevent any damage from being underneath the car and to keep the lines cooler. The only problem I had was priming the fuel system. I was told that it would only take about 3-4 series of turn the pump on for 10 seconds and wait 30. It took me some 30-40 sessions to see fuel come out of the fuel tank return line. After I had the car running I noticed what was probably causing it to take this long to fill the system. I had fuel pouring out of the lines running from the tank to the hard lines. I had to lower the tank and replace these lines. Make sure you're existing fuel lines are in good shape to avoid this problem. The car is running great with a few minor adjustments to the AIC. So far the system and car are running great.
