Info

If you are looking to increase valve lift without swapping cams, a simple rocker arm upgrade can accomplish the task. By changing the ratio of your rocker arms, you increase total valve lift by multiplying the lobe height of the camshaft. Changing from factory 1.5:1 rocker arms to this 1.6:1 set will increase lift by 10%. More lift means more airflow and horsepower for a given valve size, assuming your cylinder heads can support it.

These "long slot" rocker arms are the perfect upgrade for the budget-minded builder. Stock rockers can bind when used with high-lift cams. Here, the stud slot is machined with extra clearance for performance camshafts with up to .550" lift (when used with stock 1.250" diameter springs, 125 lbs max pressure). These stamped steel rocker arms work with 3/8" studs on 1955-85 style SBC heads (without self-aligning rockers). These stock appearing performance rocker arms are specially heat treated for maximum resistance to wear and flex.

  • High-ratio rocker arms are a great way to make your camshaft a little "bigger"
  • Long-slot rocker arms do not bottom out or bind up on the stud
  • Increase total valve lift 10% by changing your rocker arm ratio
  • Use with cams up to .550" lift and springs up to 125 lbs of pressure
  • Heat treated steel for maximum resistance to wear and flex
  • Stock appearing, with no moving parts to fall out or break
  • Fits 1955-85 style heads with 3/8" diameter studs

Making internal upgrades to your small block Chevy means getting the right combination of components for maximum performance and durability. When making a cam change, don't forget the other pieces necessary to a well-running SBC. Make sure you have the right combo, without breaking the bank, with a set of long slot rocker arms from Speedway Motors. Also, don't forget to check your valve guide clearance for the added lift!
