Installation Details

Installation Tips

This cylinder head in stock form has push rod slots in the head similar to a stock GM cylinder head, therefore, no guide plates are needed or utilized. If guide plates are added or utilized, you will need to drill out the pushrod slots for clearance purposes to allow for the push rod guide plate function.

Assembled version will include the following:

COMP - Utilizes Speedway valve springs 180-671515 and 915-39741 retainers.

SM - The Sport Mod version has upgraded Isky valve springs 450-235D, tool steel retainers and spring locators.

SC - The Stock Car version has the same Isky valve spring components as the SM unit and also has been surfaced to max out the compression rule for the IMCA Stock Car.

Bought a pair of these complete for our hobby stock engine, bolted on an existing running engine as an upgrade to what we had. Made it 3 laps in the heat and stuck 2 valves. Very disappointed. Better of buying the bare head and let you local machine shop assemble them to make sure they are right.

install was easy even in the 95 s10. However, the number 3 &4 sparkplug hole is centered between the head bolts which is slightly different from the previous heads we had. Holes were further aft. Only reason I bring this up is that we are using the Sanderson shorty headers which now get close to the #3 spark plug and prevents me from using a socket to tighten the spark plug. The boot on that plug is almost touching the header, but so far it's okay.
