Will NOT work on posi carrier. Use with 3/4" chromoly cross pin (listed).

Will this fit to my ford 8.8 31 splines open carrier?

Will this 31 spline mini spool fit into a carrier that has 28 spline side gears now? Ford 9" third member with 28 spline axle shafts. I have 31 spline axle shafts but they will not fit into the 28 spline side gears. Can I remove the open carrier spider gears and replace it with this mini spool and have the 31 spline axle shafts fit, or will the 31 spline axle shaft still hit the carrier? Will I have to go a full spool instead?
