    Earls 008ERL Details

Earl's patented EX (Roller) Beader is a fresh approach to an old problem. In order to securely attach rubber water hose to rigid aluminum tubing, the end of the tubing must be beaded. Generations of racing mechanics have used military surplus Parker beading tools to do the job. We probably sold more of them than anyone. Unfortunately production ceased after WWII and the surplus kits have been scarce for over a decade. Compact enough to be used on already installed tubing, Earl's EZ-BEADER produces a properly positioned and perfectly radiused bead on aluminum tubing with wall thicknesses from .035" to .065". This is one tool that no serious racing mechanic can afford to be without.

    Overall Assessment

The product, unfortunately, has received negative reviews, citing its lack of practicality. Users reported difficulties in manipulating the product, such as struggling to put a 'bump' in high pressure fuel lines. They also indicated issues with the tool getting stuck, ruining their tubes. Regarding material quality, users mentioned it didn't deliver as expected, underperforming especially on 3/8" steel and aluminum tubing. Consequently, its usability is in question, as well as the safety concerns raised by the tool sticking inside the tube.

I tried to put a "bump" in some high pressure fuel line ( regular 3/8" steel tubing ). Hardly dimpled it. Then I couldn't get the pimpling steel balls to retract to get the tool back out of the tubing. Ended up just flaring the end of the tubing. Good idea, just didn't deliver.

Would not form a bead on 3/8 aluminum tube. Tool got stuck in the tube and ruined the tube. Is a low buck tool that just doesn't do the job.
