These shims are used to take up the slop between the distributor gear and the distributor housing. Allows you to set the endplay of your distributor shaft. Designed to work with distributors having a shaft diameter of 1/2". The gear must be removed to install these shims.
Includes two .010", two .020" and one .053" shim.

Some times it is the little known part that is important
Incorrect installation of the distributor has and can cause damage to the gear on the distributor and that on the cam shaft and proper shimming can eliminate that damage. When properly shimmied a dab of grease on the gear will show the meshing of the drive gear to the cam gear and if too tight this can be seen by inspection of the dab of grease when the distributor Is removed. This of course is used in conjunction with the Distributor shim kit to insure that proper spacing in maintained.
