Overall Assessment

Customers found our product to offer the best value, with its components meshing seamlessly with the BelEra II gauge cluster. They lauded its look and its perfect matching with the gauges. While installation was mentioned as challenging due to differing instructions, the abundant mounting options are appreciated. Attention is necessary when setting up due to a fragile component in the gauge, nevertheless customer service handled issues swiftly under warranty. The programming requires precise adherence to instructions but results in smooth operation. Customers endorse our product because of its quality and compatibility despite complex installation.

I bought this shift indicator to go along with the BelEra II gauge cluster I purchased at the same time. The gauges and the shift indicator match perfectly. There are 3 main components to this kit: a gear shift sender, a decoder, and the gauge itself. Installation was more difficult than I had anticipated. Mounting the gear shift sender to the transmission (a 700R4) was no where close to what the instructions showed. I my case, the instructions were just opposite of how I ended up mounting it. Fortunately, they give you a lot of options for mounting. Be VERY, VERY CAREFUL when connecting the wires to the terminals on the back of the gauge. The copper winding is attached to the spool the nut connects to and you can break the winding off from the spool. I know because I did this and had to send it back. Fortunately, they covered it under warranty as apparently this has been a common problem. I would recommend attaching a nut to the bottom of the spool, then the wire terminal, then another nut. That way when you tighten the nut for the wire terminal, you are just tightening it against the other nut. There are 24 programming steps so follow the instructions for programming the gauge exactly. Make sure the transmission is in the gear you are programming, i.e. if you are programming the reverse gear don't accidentally have is in neutral. Don't skip or miss any of the steps and it should work fine.
