Installation Tips

Will NOT fit LS7 engines!

Apply a light coating of grease, such as wheel bearing grease or similar, around the ports before installing the block off plates to aid in short-term sealing with easy clean up.

For long term storage, or aggressive pressure washing/cleaning we recommend installing port block off plates with gaskets for total sealing of the ports.

Fasteners are not included, and most stock fasteners will be too long. We have a hardware kit available, 91081603, or source appropriate length bolts as follows:

Intake bolts are M6x1.0 thread (10 qty)
Exhaust bolts are M8x1.25 thread (12 qty)
Water pump bolts are M8x1.25 thread (6 qty)

Don’t forget your LS engine stand to safely store your engine too!

Protect Your LS Engine with Easy-to-Use Port Block Off Plates

At some point or another in our hot rodding lives we’ve had to store an engine for an indefinite length of time. Perhaps your new project is in paint-prison? Or maybe the kids need braces, and your garage therapy must be put on hold. Whatever the reason, you need to put up your LS engine until such time you can continue with your project. This is the 21st century, so don’t waste your time attempting to make engine block off port covers with masking tape that dries out in a month leaving a powdery mess and no protection, or even worse duct tape that takes two days of cleaning the sticky mess off your pretty aluminum cylinder heads a year from now. Instead, pick up our aluminum LS engine block off plate kit that quickly and easily bolt down over your intake and exhaust ports and water pump inlet/outlet, fully sealing these ports from garage critters and keeping your LS ready to go.

A 3/8-inch Thick Intake Port Cover Ensures Proper Sealing

Our LS engine block off kit fits all LS engines except for the LS7 and is made from premium materials, including 3/8-inch-thick billet aluminum for our intake block off plates. These are machined to a true flatness, ensuring the best sealing possible. While gaskets or port O-rings are not included, you can easily cut custom intake gaskets for 100 percent moisture protection for pressure washing and painting duties using some intake gasket material if you so wish. The water pump and exhaust port block off plates are made from .090-inch-thick aluminum and can be enhanced with water pump and header gaskets for them as well for additional sealing security. Installation of these engine block off plates are quick and easy, requiring only clean and debris free gasket surfaces before installation. This engine block off kit can be used for storage of spare race engines, long term storage of a project engine, protecting port openings during pressure washing or painting, and more!

Kit Includes:

(2) 0.375-inch-thick billet aluminum intake port block off plates
(4) 0.090-inch-thick aluminum exhaust port block off plates
(2) 0.090-inch-thick aluminum water pump port block off plates

Overall Assessment

Customers appreciate the quality and robustness of the intake covers, noting they're well-crafted from thick aluminum. However, concerns were raised about the thinness of the exhaust plates, with some users noting they may not seal effectively. Despite these mixed reviews, the chunky, high-quality intake plates stand out positively in comparison to other products on the market. It's worthy to note that customers recommend checking the product specs for material thickness before purchasing.

I did go back and read read after the product arrived and they do provide the thickness specs in the details but I was unhappy to find the intake plates so awesome and chunky and the exhaust plates super thin to where they won't press up against a gasket well enough to seal for pressure washing as I hoped

Would Not Recommend

Intake covers are great the other covers not so much

Intake covers are great made out of thick aluminum the exhaust manifold covers and water pump covers are made out of a much thinner cheaper material just doesn't seal the way I wanted it to.
