I already had a full complement of Traditional Chrome 2-1/16 gauges and Ultra-Lite 2-1/16, and wanted a big 5 inch speedo and tach for my TR6 hot rod project (keeping the stock wood dash). Needed an electronic speedo because of the T5 electronic VSS. Decided I wanted the more old-school look of the black face. Could not find a description of what is different about the Designer Black series; ordered it anyway. It has curved glass instead of flat, and the bezel profile is softer, more subtle, than the Traditional Chrome series. All in all they go good together and look great in the wood dash of the TR6!.
