Installation Tips

Considering a switch to EFI or swapping in that late model motor? What has recently become the hottest trend in hot rodding has been plagued by fuel delivery. The question is always, what do I do for a tank? Up until now, it’s been one of three options. Weld in a sump to your tank, go with a fuel cell or pay for a custom tank. Well, not any more. Aeromotive’s Phantom Fuel System gives you the option to put a high performance fuel pump inside virtually any fuel tank, including your factory tank.

Simply cut a hole in the tank. Measure the depth and then cut the pump hanger bracket to length along with the baffle / basket foam. Insert the baffle and nstall the retainer ring and gasket, then bolt the pump and hanger assembly down. That’s it. Now you have a fuel pump inside your factory tank capable of supporting big horsepower EFI or Carbureted applications and it's whisper quiet.

No more welding sumps or using up trunk space with fuel cells. No more hot fuel handling issues like vapor-lock and no more fuel slosh. The Phantom system’s internal baffle / basket controls fuel slosh and keeps the fuel pump submerged in fuel, even at low fuel levels and in aggressive driving. The best part about this whole system… its completely universal. This system will fit virtually any tank from 6” deep to 15” deep, plastic, steel, aluminum, corrugated or smooth. These new Phantom EFI Fuel Systems include all main fuel system components required to create a true, pulse-modulated, “return-less” EFI fuel system. Specifically engineered for engines with today’s Hot New Carb to EFI Throttle Body Conversion Systems equipped with a fuel pressure transducer and an ECU capable of controlling fuel pressure with pulse modulation technology. Includes the desired Phantom Baffled Fuel Pump Kit with a 340 LPH fuel pump. Each system includes Aeromotive billet high-flow billet fuel filter, filter mounting bracket, plus all the required port fittings and o-rings

For “return-less style” throttle body EFI conversion systems. Suitable for naturally aspirated EFI engines producing from 300- 500 flywheel Horse Power. AN-06 Style fuel hose and hose-ends are required for the installation of a fuel supply line, sold separately and not included.

I am installing a 2012 5.3L Vortec Flex Fuel engine with a 6L80E Automatic Transmission in a 19552nd series pickup and will be installing a custom frame mount fuel tank and will be needing an in-tank fuel delivery system that is good for gasoline and ethanol fuel.
