These Viton 9" Ford rear axle pinion seals are good to over 400° F. Stock rubber seal starts to deteriorate at about 250° F.

I had a leaking pinion seal on my fore 9". I bought this seal, spacer, nut kit to replace it. The solid spacer is a huge upgrade and made the pre-load of the pinion bearings much easier. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who is replacing their pinion seal.

As a shade tree mechanic I have always been afraid to tackle even a partial a tear down of the Ford 9" because of the hassle of re setting up the Pinyon crush sleeve etc. But the differential in my RaTT Rod needed a new oil seal, so I ordered the Speedway seal/solid spacer kit and it worked out just fine.
