I wanted to replace the old oil bath air cleaner on my 56' Olds, the Rochester 2bbl carb has a 3"center instead of the normal 2" so I bought this base along with a complete air cleaner for a 4bbl carb and now my car breathes nice clean air. This base is listed as 14" dia, but it is a little bigger. The 14" air filter is smaller than the base by about 3/8" which doesn't make any performance difference at all...

My 2 barrel Rochester measures 2 5/8th O.D. and this product is 3"O.D. I will have to cut and weld for proper fitting on 67 Nova with a 283.

The opening at the carb was too large and we had to weld in a piece of aluminum tube and now it fits and works great. Only piece like this I have seen on the market.

Works well and has good flow. I had to cut the base to get it to fit under my hood with a 3 inch element. just wrap a piece of electrical tape around the base and cut on the upper line with a pair of tin snips. 3/4 of an inch off and it fit perfectly.
