You’ll find many 5-3/4” LED headlight options using a projector style bulb housing behind a clear plastic lens. While entirely functional, for many the look is too modern and does not flow well with the classic appearance most hot rods and muscle cars give off. Most feel these “bug eye” headlights just look out of place. When designing our 5-3/4-inch round LED headlights, we knew that an OEM incandescent or halogen style fluted glass lens was a must. This provides a true to the period look for most classic rides that “hides” the fact you’re using modern LED lighting technology to provide safer driving conditions. These fluted glass lenses even include all the raised lens lettering for compliance along with headlight aiming points. The sealed beam headlight LED conversion reflector housing of our 5-3/4” LED headlights is made from cast aluminum with a ribbed heat sink backing, locating lugs, and 5-inch wire harness that allows direct connection of the H5001 and H5006 LED conversion kit headlight to your factory wiring.

Modern 6,500K White Lighting For Maximum Visibility In All Conditions

Standard incandescent headlights and even most halogen headlights give off a yellow tint to their lighting due to the way they produce light. In an incandescent headlight a tungsten wire is heated to a high temperature, which emits light at that extreme temperature output. This light that is emitted is generally in the 2,700-3,000 Kelvin (K) range, which is where the yellowish tint comes from. This process generates a lot of heat and puts a significant load on the electrical system. This heat and electrical load are what reduces the lifespan of a typical headlight and can melt the headlight wiring connector or even damage the headlight switch. Halogen headlights produce slightly whiter light at around 3,500K and have a longer lifespan, but otherwise produce a similar yellow light and heat/electrical load as an incandescent headlight.

LEDs on the other hand are offered in many color temperatures, from a typical yellow light to a more daylight temperature (usually like 5,000K). Our 5-3/4” LED headlight conversion kit bulbs use 6,500K LEDs to provide a crisp, stark white daylight illumination that helps light up the road without entering the higher blue light spectrum. This lighting makes the most of your night time visibility, both to see and be seen on the road.
