When you put modern disc brakes on the front of your 1958-1964 Chevy full-size car (Bel-Air, Biscayne, Impala), you should update the master cylinder as well. Stock 4-wheel drum master cylinders do not have the capacity to supply the proper amount of pressure for front disc brakes. For best results, we recommend using this simple, bolt-on master cylinder booster kit on all front disc brake conversions.
- 8" dual diaphragm booster
- 1" bore master cylinder
- GM style proportioning/metering combination valve
- Master cylinder has outlets on both sides for ease of plumbing
- Includes plugs for unused outlets on opposite side of master cylinder
Learn more about selecting the proper master cylinder for your vehicle by reading our tech article. Brake System Selection.
Specs
- Outlet Fittings: 1/2"-20 and 9/16"-18
- Proportioning valve comes with 1/8” NPT to 3/8"-24 IFF adapter fittings

Customers positively rate the product for its excellent performance and great fit, especially suitable for a 64 Impala. They appreciate its usability, citing its easy installation process, and consider it a worthwhile safety upgrade in comparison to other systems. However, a negative review warned about a poor fit and leaking for a 1959 Bel Air. Despite this, the overall quality, practicality, and improved safety of the product have led to customer satisfaction and repeated business.

For those looking to order this. Be warned that this product is not a good for for a 1959 Bel Air. The threaded rod is about 1" short and the proportioning Valve is leaking out the front. Not where the brake lines connect.

I purchased this kit from speedway and it did not come with any instructions. I need the plumbing instructions for the master cylinder and for the proportioning valve. The mounting was self explanatory. Does the front or rear reservoir go to the front discs or rear drums? Which outlet on the proportioning valve goes where? Can you send me instructions? Thank You

Im installing this unit on a 1960 chevy impala with your disc brake kit up front and stock drums out back, does the proportioning valve that comes in this kit have a built in 10lbs residual valve for the rear drum brakes? the master cylinder is a basically a copy of a early 70s corvette which had 4 wheel disc brakes, the 4 wheel disc brake master cylinder did not have a residual built in. from my understanding a 10lbs residual valve is needed for the rear drums to function properly.

Can this kit be purchased with a dual 7" diaphragm booster instead of a dual 8"? 1964 Impala with an LS swap. 8" diaphragms interfere with the rear coil pack.

Attachment of booster to pedal assembly In the pictures and description it appears that the new booster mounts to the firewall and a longer pushrod is used to the stock manual brake pedal. I noticed that you also offer PN 91031982 that adds a mechanical advantage to the booster bracket. Which of these options is a better choice when valve cover clearance isn't an issue? It also seems as if this kit angles the booster and master up instead of keeping them perpendicular to the firewall. Am I correct in that assumption? Thanks, Andrew Vehicle: 1962 Impala w/ stock manual drum/drum being converted with your disc front kit PN 91031911
