You get a new 575 series power steering box, new centerlink, new pitman and idler arm. Power steering pump, power steering hoses, and pulleys are sold separately. 1958-'60 cars need to order the 910-32582 idler arm adapter. Steering box uses inverted flare fittings, 11/16" fine on the pressure side and 5/8" fine thread on the return side. Has a 3/4" 30-spline input shaft.
- 575 Series power steering boxes are the key components to a high performance modern style power steering system.
- Features a 14:1 ratio unit which provides superior directional control and road feedback, as well as a more stable feel to the driver.
- Recirculating ball gears for low friction and increased steering response.
- An open centered, rotary type valve provides smooth operation throughout the steering range while retaining excellent road feel.
- For the 1958-64 full-size Chevrolet, the 575 Series is a direct replacement for the manual steering box and is “bolt on” easy to install.
- Another unique feature is the mounting bosses which are integrated into the casting, eliminating the need for an external bracket and lining up perfectly to your column without shims.
- Works with both the original and aftermarket steering columns and sway bars.
- This is the very best gearbox available on the market today to convert your full-size Chevrolet to power steering.
- New high performance center link system that upgrades the stock center link, pitman arm and idler arm for the best road feel and performance
Note: Some applications require slight modification to the radiator tank to clear the steering box. The steering box provided in this kit is a 'bolt-in' application. Connecting the steering column to the steering box will require fabrication and the use of u-joints, rag joints, and steering shaft per the installers build choice.

Excellent Product, Still Would recommend
so after about 650 miles on the new steering kit, i have to add something to my review...so the wife was parking her 63 Impala here in Germany and the Idler Arm spun out 180 degrees, after about 15 mins got it fixed, then later in the day we were leaving and again the Idler arm popped out again..so later that evening called CPP and the tech-guy was like, "yeah, we've hear of that, don't follow the installation instructions for the mounting of the Idler Arm...the arm bend should be facing towards the middle of the vehicle" so i remounted the Idler Arm, and have had zero problems since...still love this product...you definitely get a better feeling for the road when driving and way better response!! Enjoy my friends!!!

No at this point.
Installed on 58 chevy Delray. Everything bolts on just like the CPP instructions say. It turns to the left ok but it jams at end of the cross member and hits the control arm when you turn to the right. When the wheels are straight both inner tie rod ends are very close to the cross member. About an 1/8" maybe. Not safe.

Using this in my 64 Impala. There was more modification needed than I had hoped for, but the finished product looks good. I haven't driven the car yet, so not all the facts and data are in yet.

Bought this for my wife's 63 Impala to fix the bump steer problem, and what a change in the feeling of the steering now!!! Super...the car drives great, the parts installed almost perfect, only had to shim out the gear box to clear the rag joint...but other than that, no complaints!! If installing in the same car, you will have to shorten your original steer shaft about 1-1.5 inches.

Installed this kit on my 60 Impala, happy with fit and quality. I was told that when wheels straight ahead both pitman arm and idler arm should be parallel mine are not. Yesterday I took a hard left turn hit a bump and the idler arm went over center one wheel was straight other was left had to push idler arm back in position with my foot. Wheels aligned again. What is wrong with my installation?

I'm working on a 1962 Impala that has factory power steering. Will this kit work for this application without addtional components? I've heard that I might also need to use a pitman arm, center link, and idler arm from a manual steering car to make this conversion. Is that so?
