This wire will work on a 6 or 12 volt system. This solid-core sparkplug cable should ((NOT)) be used with any electronic distributor. It is OK for "points" distributors.

You inquired about our red solid core plug wire under part number 91064011 and the usage on your motorcycle. If you have a modern electronic ignition system it would not be recommended unless the cycle manufacturer is using a solid core wire now or has the ignition system designed to accept the solid core wire. This type of wire has more resistance than the modern resistor core or what is referred to as EMI Suppression wire and could cause heat buildup in the electronics and possible damage and failure. You would need to research the manufacturer of your cycle components for verification.

Problems triggering timing light using solid core wires. I am using these solid core wires with the Rajah ends for a flathead application and while they look great, it seems the solid core wires can carry too much voltage along the outside the wire and create extensive EMI interference. This evidently prevents my timing light from triggering (used both inductive and direct connect lights). I am using a high performance coil and electronic pick-up. Have you heard of this problem before?

Your best bet is to find someone with a very old timing light that doesn't have this issues like your later model light. I still use my Snap-On timing light from the late 70's or early 80's for this reason.
