The Fenton headers number 91013611 are a cast header and not a tube header. They are designed to match the original head ports and the I.D. on the inside varies from 1 5/8 to 1 ¾. We do offer some tube headers such as 9301213 that utilize 1 ¾ and 2” tube.

The Fenton headers number 91013611 can be used with an original intake and one barrel carburetor. Where the two manifolds go together for the heat box for the carburetor warm up you will need to fabricate a cover plate and on the headers there are a couple ports where you can draw heat for carb warm up if needed.

Research indicates that the same gaskets are used on the inline six Chevy engines from 1936 to 1962. There were port size changes in the earlier years depending on Power Glide or standard transmission but the year coverage of the cast iron headers appears to be in error and should read through 1962. From that point on the engine sizes and all dimensions changed.

The factory cast iron exhaust manifold has a heat box which heats your intake manifold for better performance. Fenton headers eliminate the factory heat box design for improved exhaust flow, BUT, you still need to provide your intake manifold with some exhaust heat to maintain driveability. These threaded ports allow you to direct some of the exhaust heat to the under side of your manifold using copper or steel tubing.

This two piece header by Fenton fits 216, 235, and 261 series inline six cylinder engines up through1959. It will not fit the later engine series that includes the 194, 230, 250, and 292. You may want to research some inline specialists such as Clifford Performance for availability.

These Fenton headers work with the early Chevy 216, 235, and 261 engines and will not work on the later 194-292 cubic inch engines from 63-75.
