UMI 1046-B 05-10 Mustang Rear Upper Tubular Control Arm, Black
Rear Upper Position, Tubular Control Arm Style, Steel
This new upper rear control arm replaces the factory stamped control arm reducing wheel hop and increasing traction. The S197 Mustang chassis uses a 3-link rear suspension system with a panhard bar to control the rear end under the vehicle. Under hard loads the factory pieces tend to flex and rubber bushings deflect leading to poor traction and erratic handling. Replacing the factory pieces with stronger well designed items eliminates this flex allowing for better control of the vehicle and improved traction during launches. This upper control arm is a direct bolt-on replacement and features Energy Suspension grease-able polyurethane bushings.
- Built using 0.120” wall thickness drawn over mandrel tubing
- MIG and TIG welded construction
- Grease-able high quality Energy Suspension bushings
- Reuses factory hardware
- 100% bolt-on item!
- Brilliant durable powder coat finish, available Black or Red
Spacer Kit: Part #1058 spacer kit designed to fix the oversized hole problem with the factory rear upper control arm mount. Where the rear upper control arm mounts to the chassis Ford uses a 14mm bolt and a 14mm hole in the upper control arm, however the hole in the chassis mount is 16mm. This stepped spacer set is designed to take up this slop and eliminate noise and clunks from the upper control arm area. This is done by reducing the hole size from 16mm to 14mm which does not allow the bolt to shift during acceleration and braking. The spacer kit slides into the upper mount and steps the hole size down to the correct diameter of 14mm, this allows for a tighter fit and no more clunking! Note: This kit is designed to work with the OEM upper control arm mount. It will work only on aftermarket control arm mounts that use a 16mm hole. Most aftermarket companies supply there new upper mounts with 14mm holes.
