Never before has it been so easy to upgrade your classic truck with secure, easy operating bear jaw latches from Trique Manufacturing! These bolt-in kits require no welding, just minor trimming that will be covered with the supplied installation plate. Kits are designed to retain your stock exterior and interior door handles and lock cylinders. Stainless steel striker bolts are standard, and each kit includes necessary hardware, templates and instructions.

Superior Fit, Function, and Durability!

I recently installed the Trique 1947-1951 Chevy Pickup Bolt-In Bear-Jaw Door Latches, and I am beyond impressed with the improvement! The latches are a perfect fit, though the installation was tricky due to the poor instructions—NOTE: these are not a simple "bolt-in" process. Though it's not complicated, modifications will be required. The quality is exceptional, with a sturdy, robust build that feels solid and secure every time I open and close the door. The Bear-Jaw design provides a strong, positive latch that eliminates the typical "sloppy" feel of older latches, making my doors close with a satisfying, firm action. Plus, the modern engineering of these latches offers a significant upgrade in both performance and reliability over the original hardware. If you're restoring or upgrading a classic Chevy pickup, I highly recommend the Trique Mfg. Bear-Jaw Door Latches—they're an outstanding investment!

For the price the directions should be model/year specific. Before you cut follow through the process with parts up against the door (physically image how everything fits together). The directions had me cut a whole in my door that was not needed (luckily I did not follow them blindly) and it did not tell me where I had to cut the whole that was required for my year truck. I figured for the price I did not want to over think anything so I followed them specifically. Alignment of some of the parts may be off. Where the outside door handle fits in there is a part that looks like it should be the base pivot point to keep the handle straight but the end of the handle does not fit in the hole. Not sure why the hole is there? I am very disappointed for the price. If I would have known what I know now I more than likely would have just replaced with new stock parts.

Product works every bit as advertised and makes my doors feel like a newer modern vehicle. Only issue I personally had is that the included photo illustrations are not the clearest and the directions can seem hard to follow. But with some patience, everything comes together and works perfectly.

I'm considering these latches for a 1951. Does the latch for the driver's side contain a receiver for the modified lock pin? I'm wanting to move my lock cylinder from the passenger side to the driver side for convenience but I want to make certain that the driver's side latch will receive the cut-down lock pin.

Will these interfere with power window track. I have "Specialty Power Windows" installed in my 49. The window track is 1-1/8 " inside the door from where the stock door latch is installed. I'm not sure how deep into the door these latches install.
