Why would you zinc plate a weld on bung?

WARNING!!! These are zinc plated!! Not as described and Not weldable!! I have previously purchased many of these, they were bare steel with some oil to prevent rust. Last time I purchased them, Jan 2015 they were zinc plated, not sure why you would zinc plate a weld on part, the plating causes porosity and a poor weld and will leak. I had to dip these in Muratic acid to remove the plating prior to welding
