Brite 1157

Brighter than a regular incandescent 1157. Make sure you have no plastic near them, especially the tail light lens but also the housing and reflector. I even changed the bayonet socket holding the bulb. On a brighter note, I use these in my headlights as well. I'm currently running the old 10 1/2" headlamps from the teens that have glass lenses and metal reflectors. I changed the bayonet socket to a ceramic 1157 and installed these bulbs. On low beam they are brighter than the old 6v bulbs and on high beam they are surprisingly bright. Now we'll have to wait and see how long they last.

Better Than What I Bought Elsewhere

Installed bulbs in rear lights on 1966 Mustang with updated lenses that can handle the heat. Original lights dim by today's standards. These are big improvement. They come in box and plastic foam protection and include instructions about the need to wipe with alcohol to remove any finger prints that can cause premature failure. Bulbs bought elsewhere (at same price) did not come in a box and had no instructions about the need to clean them. They failed after short time. I am sure cause no instructions about cleaning off finger prints and I didn't wipe them off. Won't buy anywhere else but Speedway!
