If you’re looking for a basic filler neck and cap for your custom build or repair, we have a great economical kit for you.
A filler neck made from mild steel and a natural finish can be welded to any steel fuel or oil tank and is 2.75” in diameter, 1.25” in height with a 2.25” O.D. bung.
A twist-on style, vented steel cap is included with a durable zinc finish. The cap is vented to the underside and includes a rubber gasket seal. This cap is 1.875” across the lock tabs.

Filler Twist cap w/steel neck
I used this piece on a custom fuel cell i was putting together for a piece of industrial equipment. It perfectly suited my needs in a fuel cap, but i had some difficulty welding the mount. Granted, i was welding it to a galvanized elbow, but the material of the filler neck seemed to be steel coated in some way as well. It took some grinding to get it to work, but the material is pretty thin, too. All in all, it suited my needs and does its job properly.

Fail !
The gasket swelled and the cap will not go on the way and leaks gas. Nothing like having a leaking gas tank in the dunes on your rail!

Replacement parts for a 580 case fuel tank the original pipe and filler cap was rusted through. Used a 2 inch x 10 inch aluminized exhaust pipe and attached the cat to it.
