Paul form Newcastle: if you are concerned about that 1/4" hole through the center, press and tack weld a piece of 1/4" steel dowel to fill the hole. There is plenty of material to turn the threaded shank down to 3/8-24. For some reason, there are few if any other clevis's out there that are robust enough with either a .500" or .625" slot width. We must make do with what we can get.

Product description and photos are not correct. Has a 1/4" hole through the 5/8"-18 threaded section into the clevis. Was going machine back to 3/8"-24 for use in 11" Thin Line steering rack as per other positive reviews for the part. Cant use and have paid freight from the US to Australia.

I looked everywhere for 3/8" clevis' to fit Stiletto rack & pinion steering systems with rod ends. You can't even get these clevis' from Stiletto and they use them on their racks as an option! The slot is .560" and will require an AN washer to take up difference between the .500" rod end ball width and clevis slot but once done, fits perfectly. The 5/8" threaded shank was exactly what I needed but could easily be turned down and threaded for 3/8". I was going to have these custom made but these off the shelf clevis' saved me time and money.
