Standard rod ends are for general purpose applications and are a 2-piece design with a low carbon steel body and a hardened steel ball without a race (metal to metal contact).

Applications: Clutch, brake, steering linkage, & suspension components on moderate horsepower applications.

Assembly Tip: To ease assembly, be sure to run a tap or die through the threads on chrome plated fasteners and apply an anti-seize compound to prevent galling of the threads.

We replaced the tie rod ends on a John Deere 22 HP garden tractor used to cut grass in a cemetery so the steering is always cranked. Cost is apx. 20% of the dealer's price and quality is much higher.
