Our pipe notcher tool starts with strong 1/4-inch water jet and press bent hot rolled steel plate for its main mounting surface. We use the same strong 1/4-inch steel plate material for the adjustable angle joint plate and the tool free tubing clamp assembly. A 3/4-inch mandrel rides in bronze bushings seated in an oversized 2 inch by 3 inch aluminum mandrel support. The protractor scale is graduated from 0- to 55-degrees of pipe angle. This is not the angle of your cut, but the angle of the pipe layout. For example, if you’re adding door bars to your basic 4-point roll bar and the door bar angle is 32 degrees, once you have set your door bar into the joint plate’s clamp you would move the joint plate to indicate 32 degrees on the protractor scale for your cut.
