Nice housing, nothing special light
Housing is genuine high-quality stainless steel, come with all the hardware you need to bolt it up, and that's all stainless too. My only misgiving is that the light socket itself is not fixed inside the housing, it's just a regular two-wire plug that's hanging out inside the housing. That said, it is nice and bright and does what it's supposed to so I'm still pretty happy with it overall.

Nicely made, a bit bulky and heavy. Not
Was attracted to this because it was said to use an 1895 bulb which I could replace with a bayonet style 6-volt bulb. Instead it came with a modern wedge-style bulb. I am going to try to replace that with a number 147 3-Watt 6-volt wedge bulb and see if it works. If not, I will return the light. Also, I am concerned about the weight of the light, as I will be suspending it from the bottom of my top-fastened license plate. It is much bulkier and heavier than units I've seen at flea markets. On the other hand, this one is more nicely made.

I was working on a 29 Ford Model A and didn't have a good way to mount the license plate light (which is required by my state regardless of the year of the vehicle) I have used the lighted bolts in the past but those wouldn't work in this case and this license plate light filled the need since it's stud spacing is the same as a modern license plate. Add a wire and you're done.

Beautiful finish and easy install.Had to "carve" the corner of the plate frame to allow room for the wires to exit without rubbing but was an easy fix.Overall, I would buy again.
