Finally, this design got perfected.
My '55 Ford F100 has had a SBC in it since 1960. Engine was installed with a dropped tube cross member, with tube flanges bolted into frame. I bought the truck in '72, replaced engine with a '69 LT1. Used as a shop truck, hauled Hemis, towed boats, and flat towed race A/SR roadster to Fremont drags. Ran truck, street tires/mufflers, 13.20. 1994, replaced engine with Vortek 350, in 2017 engine tore the tube cross member apart, ripped mounts out of thin wall tubing. Looked to Speedway, found a new tube engine mount with .110" thick wall tubing, superior flanges. Ordered it, had it in 4 days. I'll be hole-sawing the frame rails, partially boxing at the member, and welding it in permanently. The SBC stays, no matter how hard the truck tries to 'spit it out'! The new member is just what I would have designed, if I had access to a heavy bender. Thanks, Speedway!
