Cool Piece
These tear off posts are cool. They are tapered, which makes it easy to put the tear offs on the posts. They rotate easily and create greater tension on the tear offs than the stock plastic posts, which reduces distortion by stretching the tear offs tight on the shield allowing for more tear offs to be be stacked. The mounting hold on a Simpson Voyage shield had to be enlarged about 1/16.

Very durable but dificult to tear from
I like them and they are super durable but I am going to have to take them back off and sand a radius on the lip where the tear off pops over. The tear off groove is very deep and the ridge has a very square edge that makes it very difficult to get the tear offs on and off if positioned tight enough to not have wrinkles. I had to install the tear offs then move the post rearward. Ran into issues during race, I would reach up and grab the tear off and couldn't get enough grip on it through the gloves to tear it off. Will be sanding a radius on post lips.

if you are replacing the OEM plastic posts on your shield say on a Bell GTX2 then be aware that the aluminum posts are a much bigger diameter than stock and the off center rotation hole is only slightly off center. The recommended tear offs both singles and Xstacks will not fit since the outside to outside measurements of the posts are a 1/4" bigger. This makes trying to stretch the tear offs to much and they rip. We have struggled most the season thinking we kept getting the wrong tear off pack when poof epiphany hey those posts are huge compared to the stock ones. Off they come and plastic ones back on and no problems the tear offs fit now.
