Overall Assessment

The product, a gauge dash panel, is praised for its good design, quality, and appealing finish. Customers report that it is a durable and practical instrument replacement. However, certain adjustments like grinding or drilling may be necessary for fitting as some users noticed this was not an exact fit. The gauges are reported to fit well and once installed, the panel looks good and flush. It's a favored choice for standard gauge conversions. Despite the required work for fitment, the product is recommended by users for its overall function and aesthetics.

Expect no drop in fit.

I had to do considerable hammer work to the dash opening in my 1950 Ford truck to get this panel to fit the opening. Also, there was a set of aluminum brackets included that had no function for my install.

be prepared to grind and grind some more

I have seen several reviews where it says small amount of grinding. That may be true if you want to grind your dash, but if you grind the dash panel to fit it will take work and test Fits then more grinding. Then if you just happen to slip with grinder, you will have to sand out scratches and polish. Regardless, other reviewers definition of minor grinding and mine are obviously different. This dash panel will work and does look good, but it takes work and patience to make fit properly. Gauges do fit well. You will have to fabricate mounting brackets and drill and tap holes in panel or simply grind to a pressure fit situation.

The panel takes the place of the stock instrument frame and dash panel. The panel fits, with some small grinding and adjustment to the existing anchor points, into the existing dash panel hole. It fits flush and looks good. I had to move and re-weld an existing anchor point to make the panel fit a little tighter. I like it a lot.

Very nice pice but I have to enlarge the hole in my dash to make it fit I understand that the stamping process back in 1949 wasn't precise . But all an all pretty good option if converting to standard gauges
