Can this kit be installed without the purchase of the cross member?

Its hard to see from the photo, but it looks as though the drag link tracks good but the tie rod connected to the pitman arm is at an extreme angle. Does this cause "Bump Steer" and if so how much. I am interested in this kit but wonder if I would have to fab a rack and pinion setup to be safe.
