I am having trouble figuring out which size/length fastener I need with these springs and plates. I am fastening 22 guage thickness sheet metal flat against these do you know which size fastener would be the correct fit? Thanks

I have never used these before but I just made a sheet metal hood for my 1940 rat rod. I want to fasten it down and use something that can be removed quickly as well. So am I to understand the plate AND the spring are pop riveted together and thru my truck cowl and grille shell or are the plates welded on?
