Customers note that the 68 Camaro 327 RS power steering conversion kit offers a significant improvement, providing faster response time with just over two turns lock to lock, compared to the old gearbox's 6.5 turns. Installation requires precision due to the tight space, and additional purchases such as a rag joint and more suitable pulley may be needed. Hose routing is described as somewhat experimental, with the inclusion of three different hose clips, though the quality and aesthetics of the product post-installation received positive feedback. Reports indicate the product outperforms similar products from competitors. Despite some initial issues with pulley and belt sizing, users found the kit to be a worthwhile upgrade.

Wrong pulley in kit--need backspaced pulley for 68 327 with short water pump. Speedway only people that sell it. Wrong fan belt length. Didn't send one of the mount brackets, but kindly sent it asap when I called. Rag joint must be purchase also--old one wrong shaft size. Old gearbox was 6 1/2 turns lock to lock, this one is just over 2 turns--very quick. Very tight space for installation--almost wanted to pull/lift engine. Hose routing is experimentation without a picture to go by, 3 different hose clips provided, not sure where to put them all. Looks good in the end, works well, worthwhile upgrade, Speedway is a good company to buy from.. 68 Camaro factory assembly manual shows all the correct hose routing, other things.

Straight forward kit.
