Overall Assessment

Customers praised the product, noting its influence on transforming a harsh ride into a smooth glide. The springs are customizable, enabling users to modify them to preferred standards. They were found to be instrumental in enhancing control on uneven ground and fitted perfectly on various models like the 55 Chevy, 1955 Bel Air, and 56 2 door sedan. However, some users felt the product unexpectedly lowered the ride height compared to the original (stock) height, which did not meet their expectations. The leaf springs' quality and practical enhancements were commonly appreciated but ensure the height adjustment suits your needs.

Who ever looks at at leaf spring? I do. The spring sets come unfinished and have straight cut ends and will work fine as delivered, but I like rounded corners and because I will be driving to the salt flats I disassembled the springs to put a couple of coats of paint on them after spending some time grinding and sanding the ends to a slightly rounded taper.

I should have listened to the guy that said they lowered the ride height. He was right. My old springs have thicker leafs. These springs have a nice ride, but if you're looking for the higher stance, these are not for you. I'm considering reconditioning my old springs and reinstalling them.

Once I removed my old spring and compared it to the new spring I knew it was not going to work. My 30 year old spring had more arch and thicker leaves than the new one. I installed it anyway. But instead of raising or even maintaining the stock height, which it was advertised to do, it lowered the car 11/4". I removed it and reinstalled my old spring.

These springs gave my 1955 Bel Air a much smoother ride and what seems to be better control on rough pavement. I'm well pleased with the quality.
