Overall Assessment

Customers appreciate the availability of our pedal car products for restoration, notably praising the quality of our hubcaps, describing them as better than expected, with good chrome quality. They also appreciate the authenticity of our reproductions, particularly for specific models like the '64 Mustang Pedalcar. However, some reported issues with fit and the material quality of mounting tabs. Despite a few challenges, they highlight the ease of installation and overall satisfaction with the product, implying a preference for it over competitors' alternatives.

64 Mustang Pedalcar Hubcap

The 64 caps (no 3 prong spinner or red insert) are different than the later caps (have 3 prong spinner). These match the original 64 even though the picture from Speedway shows the cap with the 3 prong spinner. Below is a picture of the actual 1964 caps. They can be difficult to install but look great when they are completed.

They do not fit properly

These caps did not fit a original 66 Mustang pedal car wheel. I asked for assistance and was advised with the following from the tech: " I appreciate the photos and it appears to be an original. I've spoken with my pedal car tech and he said there's some variance in those wheels. Some customer these work great, some they're too tight and some have an issue where they're not tight enough. Since they're made of plastic, we obviously can't bend the tabs or really modify them. If this is a display piece, I'd suggest using some RTV or silicone to secure them to the wheel. I'm sorry I'm not much help as it's hard to diagnose the issue without feeling how its grabbing." I decided to return them and got a refund- my loss was the cost to ship them back.

AMF Mustang hubcaps tabs are very weak and broke during the 1st install. They would not stay on and kept falling off. I do dozens of pedal car Restorations each year, and usually Speedway motors is my goto supplier.

I bought a mustang pedal car and it was missing a hubcap, windshield and the grille. It is too original to restore so I'll keep my eyes open for original parts

These are nice looking replacements however, the mounting tabs are incredibly weak and break very easily. They are made with a very cheap, stiff plastic that is not as playable as it should be to be mounted as designed. While hesitant to recommend I'll say it again, as per my other reviews, where are you going to get another!?!

Questions & Answers

Do these hubcaps fit other AMF pedal cars? I have an AMF 501 that I'm fixing up and would love to put a set of 1964 style Mustang hubcaps on it. From what I can tell, my wheels and that of the Mustang look identical, but thought I'd ask just to make sure. Also, my pedal car does not have rear wheel cut-outs and I'm wondering if there would be clearance issues between the hubcap and the body. Your help is greatly appreciated.
