Omega Kustom 5-Gauge Set, 3-3/8 Inch Mechanical Speedometer

An excellent product hurt by careless flaws.

I would gladly have given these gauges five stars if it hadn't been for two niggling problems. First, the light for the speedometer was missing. Speedway's excellent customer service identified the part I needed and sent it out quickly, but still its absence delayed my installation by five days or so. I understand that this was an oversight that might be 1 in 10,000 and, again, Speedway resolved the issue quickly. Less forgivable was the near complete absence of instructions for installation of the fuel sender. These senders must be adjusted according to the depth of the fuel tank and instructions for similar parts from other manufacturers provide dimensions down to 1/16". The Omega Kustom gauge had no information whatsoever on how to adjust the size of the sender's stem and float arm. I looked on Speedway's web site and found an instruction sheet that wasn't included in my delivery and thought I'd solved the problem until I read its advice that the sender should be set up "according to the instructions." That was adding insult to injury. I finally found instructions for a similar sender from a different vendor, but when I tried to follow them, I discovered that the Omega sender couldn't be adjusted for a 6" deep fuel tank like mine. Ultimately, I bought a different but compatible sender, and the gauge now works well. I really like the Omega Kustom gauges, and I think they're a great value. It's just a shame that careless packaging and awful documentation diminish what would otherwise be an excellent product.
