Great product, but needs a little refining. As others have stated the distributor boss inside needs to be ground down to clear the timing gear. I also had to file the bolt holes a little to get the cover to sit straight. The biggest disappointment is the distributor clamp bolts are set up in the wrong direction. Makes it very challenging to tighten the clamp. The distributor clamp is the main reason I purchased this cover, makes it easy to install a modified Chevy distrib. Make sure to test fit and clearance before final install!

Make sure to test for before you put your gasket and gasket maker on. I had trouble with the casting being to thick where the distributor shaft comes through the cover. I had to clearance mine a good bit.

Be sure to do a trial fit. Some bolt hole locations needed rework to match block threaded holes. An un-identified spacer ring was included. Probably to correctly position a distributor, but no specifics were provided.

If you are using a Mallory distributor, the end of the distributor shaft will fit into the boss in this cover, providing stability. This is a nice upgrade over the factory cover. Unfortunately, the MSD Ready-to-Run distributor shaft is too short so you won't get that benefit.

I bought this and the MSD Ready-to-Run distributor together. The timing cover is nicely made but the distributor was an extremely tight fit in this cover. I am not sure if the distributor was a little oversize or the cover was a little undersize, but a quick hit with a 1" hone fixed the problem. I would not hesitate to buy this cover again.
