I converted my heater dash in my '66 Chevelle to use factory side and center style vents. I do not have factory GM pieces to compare to, however, these fit nicely. clipped in securely. I would recommend these to anyone using aftermarket Astro style vent kits. Can't speak for the fitment on OE pieces. With all that said though, these do not nor do the A/C vent kit comes with the felts for the retainer side. If you omit the felts its not super positive but could still work.

Original retainer was broken and would not hold the dash vent correctly. Rather than try to fix the original I purchased a new one from Speedway and it was well worth it. It fits perfectly and holds the vent ball like it should.
