Billet Aluminum Custom Shifter Sticks That Work with Any Interior Style

Upgrading to a modern overdrive transmission, be it a manual or an automatic, is one of the most popular updates for classic muscle cars, pickups, and hot rods. If there is a significant way to increase the useability of a classic vehicle it is adding those extra gears and overdrive in the tunnel. Going from a two or three speed to a four or five speed (or even a 6-speed!) overdrive means better cruising rpm, less wear on the engine, and quieter, often drone free, exhaust. Road trips suddenly are something you will look forward to! When shopping for an overdrive transmission conversion everyone considers the transmission itself, obviously, as well as the transmission crossmember, and driveshaft, but few give any thought to the shifter until the transmission is installed and they realize the stock shifter will not work with their new transmission.

While some manual transmissions include a shifter base (like the TKX and other Tremec models), it is often the automatic swaps where an actual shifter assembly is required for proper operation since the stock floor shifter does not have the appropriate amount of shift detents or gear positions. We offer numerous automatic overdrive shifter options for your overdrive swap. For manual swaps, or automatic shifters that utilize a two-bolt manual shifter sticks mounting pattern, such as our line of side detent shifter models, our bolt on CNC machined aluminum shift levers are a great option.

Standard Two Bolt Mounting Fits Modern Manual Transmission Shifter Bases and More

Our CNC machined aluminum shifter levers are made from high strength 6061-T6 billet aluminum and feature a stylish ball milled center recess with chamfered lightening holes. We offer a version of thse shift levers without the chamfered lightening holes through the middle of the level as an option as well. At the bottom of the shift lever you’ll find two mounting holes drilled on a standard 7/8-inch center axis that will accommodate SAE or metric  mounting hardware, depending upon the shifter base you are mounting it to. Up top you’ll find the classic 3/8-16 thread pitch machined into the shifter lever for your choice of shift knob to suit your transmission or driving style.

The shift levers are offered in three lengths and with various bends. The straight 6-inch length is perfect for when the transmission’s manual shifter or your automatic’s floor shifter are relatively close to you in a small interior. The 6-inch is also offered with either a 30-degree or 45-degree bend to help with seat to shifter positioning or if you're simply desiring that classic bent rearward shifter look. Additionally, we offer a 12-inch single bend or 16-inch double bend shifter levers. These shift levers are often best used with transmissions or floor shifters where you are sitting higher or further away from the shifting axis, such as a muscle car or pickup truck. The 16-inch double bend is also perfect for bench seat applications to clear the seat bottom cushion. Whether being used as an automatic transmission shift lever or manual shifter stick, you can finish your gear shift lever installation with one of our shifter boot kits for the perfect period look as well.
