Nothing super high tech about this. I have used this longacre switch in the past and experienced good performance and reliability. I used it as a fuel pump switch on my Roadster project. If you are using this as the switch for your fuel pumps main power source don't overlook the suggestion for a momentary switch to prime the system when needed.

I used this pressure switch to create a protection loop to shut off my electric fuel pump if the oil pressure drops. I installed a T where the gauge sensor unit was threaded into the block and two street 90's to create two ports facing out and up. Both work perfect installed that way. 12 volts from the fuse block feeds the pressure switch and then to a SPDT 30 amp relay to send voltage to the pump when the starter solenoid is activated with the key. The pump is the common terminal, NC is the pressure switch feed NO is the solenoid feed. The solenoid activation feed from the key triggers the relay.

Generally any non stock electric pump will come with a warning to use a oil pressure cut off switch with there pump. It just makes sense! If your car is warming up sitting in the driveway and the carb float starts to get stuck that electric pump keeps pumping as long as that gas has an outlet, the stuck float. Even if the engine stalls depending on how the pump is wired, like thru its own on off switch, that pump can still keep on pumping , filling the engine compartment with gas and fumes until, Bang! There goes your pride and joy and anything else around that burns!! I'm talking from very sad experience! Don't let your car idle without supervision and use this switch to turn off your electric fuel when that oil pressure drops! PS it can be mounted on a brass "Y" fitting shared with your oil pressure Sending unit with real easy wiring.

There are items that we spend $ on that we hope that we NEVER need. Seat belts, helmets, insurance and these safety switches hopefully fall into that category. Its hard to prove a negative so hopefully I'll never have to prove that this works. Just glad to have it watching out for me.
