Return PolicyLizardSkin Sound Control is a spray-applied automotive sound damping coating that is great for reducing exterior noises and enhancing sound systems. It is an advanced, water-based composition of a high-grade acrylic binder with sound-damping particles.
Sound Control is used by custom car, street rod, truck builders and anyone else who wants to reduce unwanted noise and/or enhance the sound of their high end audio systems. It is best applied by the SuperPro Application Kit to a clean and dry, rust-free surface. For maximum acoustic performance in your ride, encapsulate the entire interior and all appropriate exterior surfaces.
Since Sound Control not only dampens noise, but also protects surfaces, it will help keep the integrity of your ride intact for years. The coating can withstand temperatures to 300° F. One 2 gallon container of LizardSkin Sound Control will cover 40-45 sq. ft. at 0.040” thickness dry.
Storage: LizardSkin Sound Control should be kept in a storage area above 60 deg F or above. Product can be reused if sealed correctly. It is best to keep container out of direct sunlight for sustained periods of time.
Shelf Life: One year shelf life from date of manufacture.
Caution: Do not let product freeze.

Customers appreciate our product for its efficiency in reducing noise and its ability to give cars a more solid sound. The spray application is lauded for covering nicely, filling in small areas, and being easy to use and clean up. Its texture after the application is also praised, making cars look neater. The product's toughness and quietness seem to enhance its attractiveness to customers, who have used it not only for undercoating but also on truck, Mustang, and Corvette projects. Despite a slightly longer drying time in high humidity areas, the end result is described as pleasing and durable. Some noted it's not as effective as other sound deadening materials, but easier to install. Customers also appreciate it for being easy to mix and apply with good coverage. However, some minor issues were reported regarding formation of small cracks after drying and the price point. Nevertheless, the overall sentiment remains positive, with numerous users willing to repurchase and recommend our product.

Easy to apply with the lizard skin spray gun, have even used a paint brush to paint it on. Easy soap and water clean up, smells like house paint and dries to the touch in a few hours. Sound deading is equal to Dynamat, I can't tell a difference except Lizard Skin is cheaper. I learned from experience that you cannot apply Lizard Skin on top of gloss powder coated parts. It sticks but peels off easily after it cures. Roughing up the smooth finish with a wire wheel helps.

I've used it on the trunk area and inside a new quarter panel on my Mustang project. It was easy to spray and then clean up the gun with water. It takes longer to dry here with high humidity in the Houston, TX area. The result is nice and seems like it will be durable. I will do the whole interior of the car with ti, and add the heat control version to the roof, floor, and firewall as well.
