Overall Assessment

Customers appreciate our hone for its superior quality and versatility in handling various tasks, from subtle touch-ups to more intensive operations. It stands out for its robust construction, superior to both ball hones and three-stone spring hones. When used correctly, users emphasize it doesn't cause issues often associated with similar tools, such as tapering bores or over-removal of material. The hone's superior design and included grits make it more practical and effective than competitive products. However, users note it's best suited for DIY enthusiasts and not for ultra-high-performance builds. Its overall performance has earned praise, despite the tool's learning curve.

First time using this hone I realized most of what I read online and heard in videos was bunk. This will NOT break your wrists, it will NOT definitely taper your bores, it is not going to tear through several thousandths of an inch in seconds. These horror stories are clearly from user error, oversight, or ignorance in how to use the tool. This is an excellent tool that - when used properly - can do everything for a basic street performance build, from a light touch up that many would use a three-stone hone to do, all the way to taking off a few thousandths of an inch (maybe even up to 10 if you were really patient). Anything more than that (in what you need to take off or what your performance intentions are for the build) and you really should just send the block to a shop. This is a great option if (a) you want to do things yourself and (b) you are not going for some version of an "ultimate-perfect-race" build. I suspect folks with bad experiences with this are trying to rush (not starting conservative and learning what the tool needs, the rate at which you have to work, etc.), or they are cranking up pressure on the stones (i.e. not letting the stones do the work - a basic principle most of us probably already know).

I have used the ball hones and the three stone spring hones. Thisnisuch higher quality and more robust. Comes with the grits you meed for a platue hone woth modern rings. Compared.to my Indian made rigid hone, this one mechanically is much better thought out.
