Ididit 1520690051 Details
This retrofit column is designed to fit your Chevelle El Camino and does NOT require modification to your original vehicle to install. Simply remove your old column, saving your original under dash mount and floor mount. Using an ididit installation kit, install your new steering column in place of the old. Using an adaptor, add an aftermarket wheel and the gripping surface of the new wheel will be in the same location as the original.
Please note: the 1969-72 column does not have the provision needed for the OEM Neutral Safety Switch or indicator. An alternate method must be used. The ignition is excluded on 1969 & 70 GTO.

This is the 2nd identical Ididit column I installed in a Chevelle. Always top notch quality w ididit. Quality parts. You will need to order additional parts though to complete your install as it says it's direct fit which it is, however the output at the base of the column is spline so you need additional parts from either Ididit or Speedway. Ididit has the splines kit which I thought was a little pricey and isn't direct fit as you need to measure and cut the steering shaft to length and through drill the shaft to mount the ujoint swivels to replace rag joint and the joint at end of column. In hind sight this time I'm going to use 2 of speedway ujoints and speedway steering shaft for cheaper as its the same amount of fab work in the end
